Ahmadinejad offers 5th Development Plan to Majlis

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad presented the Fifth Development Plan (March 2010-March 2015) to Majlis on Sunday.

Addressing the MPs, Ahmadinejad outlined strategies of the plan and said expansion of social justice, creation of equal opportunities for all the people, decreasing the gap between different social classes, development of deprived and rural areas, promotion of business atmosphere and providing grounds for competition are among axis of the plan.

He added gaining more benefits from man power, capital and energy, creating balance between non-oil income and the government’s charges, leading oil resources to generative economic capitals and improving quality and quantity of the social security system are among other main points of the fifth development plan.

The plan, he said, has especial attention to promotion of the living standard of the employees, respecting clients and boosting cultural atmosphere.

Increasing defensive and deterrent capabilities of Iran, promotion of quality and quantity of productions in the country, expansion of exports, further production of science and technology and increasing Iran’s scientific share in the world are other parts of the plan, he noted.

Referring to the necessity for strengthening family foundation as a pillar for an exalting society, Ahmadinejad said respecting housekeeper women for keeping the society’s culture and security, boosting the women’s position and their role in different social, cultural and economic sectors are among other main points of the fifth development plan.
