In response to ongoing U.S. military actions in Yemen, the Yemeni Armed Forces launched a ballistic missile targeting Israeli territories and engaged with the USS Harry Truman aircraft carrier in the Red Sea.
Israeli media reported on Sunday that alarms were activated throughout central Israel, encompassing various towns near occupied Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as well as certain West Bank settlements, in response to a ballistic missile launch originating from Yemen.
The Israeli military reported that its air defense systems successfully intercepted a ballistic missile launched from Yemen.
Hebrew media outlets have reported that a female settler sustained serious injuries after she fell into a deep hole while attempting to reach a shelter as the sirens were activated.
According to reports from Israeli media, the recent launch signifies at least the eighth missile attack originating from Yemen since March 18, coinciding with the resumption of Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip.
Earlier on Sunday, Yemeni Armed Forces Spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree declared that Yemeni forces continue to engage in their third consecutive week of resistance against what they describe as US aggression in the country.
He reported that the forces had “engaged in confrontations with the USS Harry Truman and its accompanying vessels on three occasions within the past 24 hours.”
A spokesperson reported that the confrontation involved the coordinated efforts of Yemen’s missile, air, and naval forces, deploying multiple cruise missiles and drones.
The assault on the US aircraft carrier was reportedly preceded by another act of US aggression in Yemen. According to Yemeni media sources, US airstrikes late on Saturday targeted multiple locations across Saada.
