Massive Syrian Army convoy heads to Daraa from Damascus

A massive Syrian Arab Army (SAA) convoy from the capital city of Damascus made its way to the provincial capital of the Dara’a Governorate, yesterday, a military source informed Al-Masdar News.

According to the source, units from the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division and pro-government National Defense Forces (NDF) were redeployed to the Dara’a Governorate after a long stint in the Rif Dimashq Governorate.

The reinforcements are expected to aid the Syrian Arab Army in their upcoming offensive in the provincial capital’s important districts of Dara’a Al-Balad and Al-Manashiyah – the latter district has been the primary battle-zone in the city.

Currently, the Syrian Arab Army’s 15th Brigade of the 5th Armored Division and National Defense Forces are doing most of the fighting in the Dara’a Governorate; however, with this recent batch of reinforcements reaching Dara’a City, they should get a major boost in numbers to help turn the tables on the jihadist rebels.
