Iranian Private Sector to File Complaint against West’s Illegal Sanctions

Iran’s private sector plans to file a lawsuit at the international bodies against the West’s illegal sanctions against Iran, Head of the country’s Trade Unions Council announced on Sunday.

“Intensification of illegal sanctions against our country should not have any impact on the supply of goods since these sanctions are more politically-tainted and as they (the westerners) have announced these sanctions should have just included embargos on the oil and banking sectors,” Qassem Nodeh Farahani told FNA.

But, he said, the sanctions have directed pressure on the supply of goods to Iran and “thus, the country’s Trade Unions Council will lodge a complaint with the World Trade Organization and the United Nations to defend the people’s demand”.

Despite the rules enshrined in the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) entitling every member state, including Iran, to the right of uranium enrichment, Tehran is now under four rounds of UN Security Council sanctions for turning down West’s calls to give up its right of uranium enrichment.

Tehran has dismissed the West’s demand as politically tainted and illogical, stressing that sanctions and pressures merely consolidate Iranians’ national resolve to continue the path.

Meantime, the Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Seyed Ali Khamenei said that foreign pressure will not change Iran’s calculations and the West is facing serious crises.

The Leader stated on Tuesday that the Iranian nation will not give in to western pressures, and noted that the US-engineered sanctions will only make Iranian officials more determined to defend the nation’s rights.
