Iranians stage massive anti-Israeli demo

Iranians have staged a massive demonstration to condemn Israel’s deadly attack on a Gaza aid convoy and the continued blockade of the Palestinian enclave.
Millions of protestors took to streets following the weekly Friday prayers in protest to Monday’s lethal attack by Israel’s naval commandos on the Freedom Flotilla while the six-ship fleet was in international waters.
Protesters chanted slogans in support of the Palestinian people and in condemnation of the Zionist regime.
A six point statement was issued at the end of the demonstration in which protestors called on the international community and the UN Security Council to take “immediate and serious measures” to stop Israeli crimes.
They also urged the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) and the Arab League (AL) to take a “united and powerful stance against the hostilities of the criminal Israeli regime,” and demand the prosecution of Israeli officials.
The Monday incident killed at least 20 people and left some 50 more injured, while the fate of three others, who are missing, remains unknown.
The attack which took place in international waters sent shockwaves across the world and sparked angry protests that prompted many countries to summon Israeli ambassadors.
Despite Israeli claims that only nine people were killed in the attack, freed activists recount a discriminate shooting of their fellow volunteers, saying the death toll must be much higher.
