Iraqi resistance launches drone targeting a ‘critical’ site in Haifa

Iraq's Islamic Resistance has declared that it launched a drone targeting a "critical objective" in Haifa, located in the northern region of the occupied Palestinian territories.

The Resistance, a coalition of anti-terrorism militants, announced in a statement that they carried out the attack on Sunday.

It stated that the operation was conducted “as a continuation of our efforts to resist the occupation.”

The coalition stated that the strike was carried out “in solidarity with our people in Gaza and as a response to the atrocities committed by the occupying entity against Palestinian civilians, including children, women, and the elderly.”

Since October 7 last year, the resistance has carried out multiple operations targeting sensitive sites across the occupied territories, in response to the Israeli regime’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip. To date, the violent Israeli military assault has resulted in the deaths of over 40,300 Palestinians, the majority of whom are women and children.

In conclusion, the group declared that it “reaffirms its commitment to targeting the enemy’s strongholds.”

In recent weeks, the resistance has intensified its counterattacks on U.S.-occupied bases in both Iraq and nearby Syria, driven by anger over Washington’s steadfast political, military, and intelligence backing of Tel Aviv’s actions in Gaza.

On Tuesday, Harakat Hezbollah al-Nujaba, a faction within the coalition, announced that they were behind the August 15 attack on the US-occupied Ain al-Assad Airbase in western Iraq. They also warned of more forthcoming assaults that would “surprise” their adversaries.

“In the near future, we will see extraordinary assaults by the Iraqi resistance, aimed to astonish adversaries both within and beyond Iraq,” stated Haider al-Lami, a representative of the movement’s political office.
