Iraqi Security Forces Arrest Saudi Terrorist in Mosul

Iraqi security forces arrested a Saudi terrorist and discovered a large cache of weapons and ammunitions in the city of Mosul in Northern Iraq.

An Iraqi security official announced on Monday that forces of the second infantry brigade have identified and arrested a Saudi terrorist in Mosul.

According to the report, the same forces also managed to discover a large cache of different weaponries in the Northern city and seized all the light and heavy arms and ammunitions concealed in the hideout.

Police forces in Iraq’s Northern city of Mosul had also in 2011 arrested three foreign nationals, including a most wanted Saudi citizen, on terrorist charges.

Spokesman of Mosul Police Younos Mohammad Suleiman said at the time that the three nationals, who also included two Sudanese, were affiliated to terrorist groups in Mosul province.

He identified the 38-year-old Saudi national as Abdullah Kazzem, and said he was an expert in planting road side bombs and car bombs.

The spokesman noted that Kazzem had been in charge of most car bombs in the province.

Suleiman stated that the three suspects were arrested when police checked homes in Mosul’s Eastern neighborhoods.

He said that the inmates had entered Iraq illegally via Syrian borders and were organizing al Qaeda affiliated groups in the region.
