Occupation renews detention for Hamas leader

The Zionist occupation authorities renewed the administrative detention of Khalid Al-Hajj, leading member of the political leadership of the Islamic Resistance Movement – Hamas, for activity and work in the ranks of the movement.

The Zionist occupation forces had arrested Al Hajj on 11-1-2007, knowing that he had been arrested in the first and the second intifada for nearly 11 years, including eight years in administrative detention.

In a press release leaked from inside the jail, Al Hajj revealed on Wednesday 17 / 2 “that the occupation authorities deliberately delayed notification of detention renewal till the scheduled release date (15-2-2010) as a matter of psychological pressure on his family.”

“All their efforts are in vain; we believe that everything is written before our birth, and we are firm and patient because we have just cause.” Al Hajj said.

He added: “The occupation authorities seeks to put Hamas aside from the arena of the act and say, leadership and guidance in the West Bank by capturing its cadres and leaders through a policy of administrative detention in contrary to all laws.”

“Our people and our movement Hamas have no option, but to face this occupation till we liberate our land and prisoners .”
