S. Nasrallah Speaks Thursday as Lebanon Prepares to Sign Maritime Deal with ‘israel’

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah is to deliver a speech on Thursday, just few hours after a scheduled signature of a maritime deal between Lebanon and the Israeli regime is to take place.

Sayyed Nasrallah is to speak at 16:00 (Beirut time) during a ceremony held on the inauguration of “Ardi” (My Land) exhibition for traditional food at Sayyed Shuhada Complex in Beirut’s southern suburb (Dahiyeh).

The speech, which will be broadcast via Al-Manar, comes few hours before a scheduled signature of the maritime deal between Lebanon and the Zionist entity.

Lebanese Preparations

Lebanese media reported on Wednesday that authorities in Beirut are preparing for a signing ceremony to be held in the southern border town of Naqoura.

Aoun Hochstein

US special energy envoy Amos Hochstein, who mediated the deal, arrives in Lebanon on Wednesday night to take part in signing the deal.

Local media said Hochstein is scheduled to meet President Aoun in Baabda on Thursday morning. The US envoy will meet then with Speaker Nabih Berri and caretaker PM Najib Mikati.

After the meetings in Beirut, Hochstein will head to Naqoura where the ceremony will be held.

Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar reported that delegations representing Lebanon and the Zionist entity will sign the deal in separate rooms.

“Lebanon is not expected to sign the agreement until after the Israel side does so,” Al-Akhbar said, adding that once the deal is inked, Beirut and Tel Aviv will send letters to the United Nations laying out the terms of the deal.

Hezbollah ‘Vigilant’

It is expected that Sayyed Nasrallah will tackle the maritime deal on Thursday, with eyes will be on both Naqoura and Beirut’s Dahiyeh.

In his latest speech, Sayyed Nasrallah said that Hezbollah will await the Lebanese official stance, stressing that “only after the agreement is signed we can say that we have a deal.”

“The moment the Lebanese see the delegations going to Naqoura on TV, we must remain cautious,” his eminence warned during a speech on October 11.

“When the Lebanese side announces the approval of the deal, then we consider that things are done and until then we must remain vigilant.”
