Bombs kill three children in Afghanistan

At least three children have been killed in two separate bomb explosions in Afghanistan.

The first bomb attack was carried out on Wednesday outside a school in the western province of Farah, where two boys lost their lives, according to provincial governor’s spokesman Abdul Rahman Zhawandai.

He said that three students were also wounded in the attack.

The second bomb blast killed the third boy in the southern province of Uruzgan.

Provincial police spokesman Farid Ayal said the incident took place after the teenager riding a bicycle hit a roadside bomb near his house.

No group has claimed responsibility for the bombings, but Taliban militants are often behind such bombings, which target Afghan and foreign forces as well as civilians.

Afghanistan remains gripped by insecurity over a decade into the US-led invasion of the country.
