Zionist Regime Launches Air Raid in Gaza, Assassinates Fifth Islamic Jihad Commander

The Israeli military conducted airstrikes in the besieged Gaza Strip, resulting in the death of a prominent commander of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad resistance movement. This occurred only hours after the group declared the passing of one of its military leaders during a pre-dawn strike by the regime.

Zionsit police reported that one person was killed and at least two others were injured in Rehovot, a city in central Israel, due to a rocket launched from the Gaza Strip in response.

Following a rocket hitting a building, the police reported in a statement that one person had been pronounced dead and two other people had sustained moderate injuries. Emergency personnel were also on the scene, searching the damaged structure.

The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that Ahmed Abu Daqqa, a high-ranking official of the al-Quds Brigades (the armed wing of the organization), was assassinated during an attack close to Khan Younis on Thursday. Additionally, four people were injured in the incident.

Since Tuesday, when Israel initiated pre-dawn raids on Gaza, the fifth senior Islamic Jihad commander has been killed.

On Thursday, the Palestinian resistance group reported the passing of Ali Ghali, the commander of its rocket launch unit.

The Israeli military reported that Ghali and Abu Daqqa were in charge of launching rockets towards the occupied territories in recent days and in prior bouts of conflict with Islamic Jihad.

On Thursday evening, Palestinian media reported that two Palestinians had been killed in an Israeli airstrike on the Shuja’iyya district of Gaza City.

Medical sources from Palestine identified Mohamed Suleiman Dader and Hussein Youssef Abdullah Dalloul as the victims.

At least four women and six children were among the 28 people killed this week as part of an operation that carried out assassinations.

Resistance groups located in Gaza have responded with volleys of rockets.

The Israeli military announced that it has hit 158 targets in the Gaza Strip, while at least 523 rockets were fired from Gaza into the occupied territories this week.

On Thursday, the foreign ministers of Egypt, Jordan, France, and Germany urged for a cessation of fighting between Israel and Gaza combatants who have been exchanging intense bombardments for three days.

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock declared that it is time for the bloodshed to stop, following her negotiations with other foreign ministers.

Ayman Safadi, Jordan’s Foreign Minister, declared that the “negative developments must stop” and that peace should be rekindled.

Safadi emphasized the importance of calming the situation and formulating confidence-building measures that could potentially result in a long-term peace-oriented political outlook.

In a joint statement released later, the four ministers expressed their profound concern about the rising tension.

They called for a prompt and sweeping ceasefire to bring an end to both Israel’s military activities in Gaza and the launching of rockets at Israel without regard for civilians.

The group strongly denounced the alarming security circumstances in the Palestinian territories that have been under Israeli occupation, as well as the recent events in Gaza, which have resulted in the unacceptable deaths of civilians, including women and children.

The four top diplomats declared their intention to collaborate with all parties in order to establish the foundations for the start of a trustworthy political process.

It was emphasized that any sources of tension and violence should be eliminated, including any unilateral actions that could potentially undermine the potential of a two-state solution and a peaceful and lasting solution.

The group implored Israelis and Palestinians to adhere strictly to the commitments made at negotiations in Jordan in February and renewed at talks in Egypt in March in order to avert further violence between them.

The wounds sustained by a Palestinian youth during an Israeli forces raid in the West Bank have proven fatal, resulting in their death.

A young Palestinian succumbed to injuries sustained the previous day when Israeli military forces invaded the northern West Bank city of Qabatiya, as the ongoing violence perpetrated in the occupied territories shows no indication of diminishing.

Fawaz Hammad, the director of al-Razi Hospital, informed Wafa (the official Palestinian news agency) that 30-year-old Aws Jamal Hamamda Kamil had been rushed to the medical center in Jenin on Wednesday in a critical condition, having suffered severe injuries due to being shot in the chest and stomach with live ammunition.

Hammad sadly succumbed to his injuries on Thursday, despite all attempts to revive him being unsuccessful.

In the early hours of Wednesday, the Israeli military carried out a raid in Qabatiya, which is located approximately 6 kilometers (3.7 miles) south of Jenin. They reported that two gunmen opened fire at their troops from a moving vehicle.

The army claimed that in response to the two assailants, the troops fired at them, leading to their deaths. Additionally, a rifle and handgun were taken from the car by the troops.

According to Wafa, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that 19-year-old Ahmad Jamal Assaf and 24-year-old Warani Walid Qatanat were the victims.

Witnesses reported that a considerable number of Israeli forces invaded Qabatiya and entered multiple residences in the western area of the West Bank city. The forces conducted a harsh search of the houses and wantonly vandalized the goods before finally leaving.

During the attack, Israeli soldiers shot at a car, resulting in the death of two young Palestinians and the injury of a third.

Residents of the city stated that Israeli forces had been carrying out searches of homes and stopping vehicles on the roads.

According to Palestinian figures, Israeli forces have killed a minimum of 123 Palestinians this year.
