IRGC to Use All Capacities to Help People in Flood-Hit Khuzestan: Commander

The commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Navy said all capacities and facilities of the IRGC will be mobilized to help those affected in flood-stricken Khuzestan province.

“We assure the flood-hit people of Khuzestan that the IRGC will mobilize all its power and equipment to help the people (affected by the flood across the southwestern province),” Rear Admiral Ali Reza Tangsiri said on Thursday.

He added that the IRGC Navy forces and troops from other units will stand by the people until their problems are fully addressed.

The remarks came after IRGC Commander Major General Hossein Salami in a visit to the province on Wednesday urged all units of the IRGC to do all they can to help those who are in dire need of relief aid in Ahvaz and other areas as a result of the flash floods.

The Iranian Red Crescent Society has also dispatched forces to provide assistance to the families affected by the flood in Ahvaz.

Over the past couple of days, heavy rain has inundated many streets and houses across the city, causing great distress for a lot of families.
