IRI exports $3.2b worth of technical services

The head of export development for Trade Promotion Organization of Iran has said more than US$ 3.2 billion worth of technical and engineering services has been exported over past 10 months.

Sohrab Salimi announced that the export of USD 3.3 billion worth of technical and engineering services abroad over past Iranian year.

“Venezuela was the main destination for the export of Iranian technical and engineering services for the above-mentioned period of time and USD 1 billion worth of such services were exported to the country by Iran,” he added.

“Iran is aiming to increase the annual export volume of its technical and engineering services to USD 4 billion by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (ending March 19),” Salimi underlined.

He noted that Iran’s neighboring countries lag behind in terms of promotion of export as compared with Iran in the field of technical and engineering services.

“Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Oman, North and South Sudan, Ghana, Kenya, Iraq and Pakistan were the major destinations for Iranian technical and engineering services,” the head of export development for Trade Promotion Organization expressed.

Iran mainly executes road construction, housing construction, and power projects overseas.

About 66 Iranian companies which are active in the field of industry and mines are in charge of different projects in 27 countries. Most of the operating firms belong to the private sector.
