ISIL, Al-Nusra Terrorists Sustain Heavy Losses in Syrian Army Operations in Eastern, Northern Homs

The Syrian army backed by the country’s air force targeted the military positions of the ISIL and al-Nusa Front (recently renamed to Fatah al-Sham Front) in the Eastern and Northern parts of Homs province, inflicting heavy losses on the militants.

The ISIL’s military positions in Tal al-Morsed, Bazr al-Favaereh and Tal al-Awamid in the Eastern part of al-Quaryatayn came under the Syrian army’s attacks, resulting in the death of several ISIL terrorists and destruction of four military vehicles.

The Syrian fighter jets also hit the movements and gathering centers of the ISIL terrorists in Mohaseh, al-Baredeh and al-Betra South of the T4 airbase in Eastern Homs, destroying a large number of their military vehicles.

In Northern Homs, the Syrian army’s artillery and missile units targeted the military positions and gathering centers of Fatah al-Sham Front terrorists in the two villages of Azz al-Din and Um Sharhouh which resulted in the destruction of a number of military bases and mortar launchers as well as military vehicles of the terrorists.

The Syrian army also targeted the gathering centers of al-Nusra Front in Talbisieh and its surrounding farms as well as Taldo in al-Houleh in Northern Homs, killing and injuring several terrorists.

In a relevant development on Sunday, the Syrian army’s missile units targeted the positions of Fatah al-Sham Front in Northern Homs, destroying the group’s operation room there.

The missile units shelled the operations room of Fatah al-Sham and Rejalullah militants in Housh Hajaw, destroying it completely.

A number of terrorists were killed and several military vehicles of them were destroyed in the missile attack.

In the meantime, the army’s artillery units targeted the gatherings and movements of al-Nusra in Northern Homs, inflicting major losses on the militants.

Also, the Syrian fighter jets raided ISIL’s military positions in the surrounding areas of the ancient city of Palmyra (Tadmur) on Friday, killing over a dozen terrorists, including a notorious commander.

Abu Omar al-Saraqebi, a senior commander of the ISIL, was among 15 ISIL terrorists killed in the Syrian airstrikes on the Southern part of the village of Sharifeh in the Eastern countryside of Homs.

An armored vehicle of the ISIL terrorist group was also destroyed in aerial bombardments.

The Syrian air force also pounded the ISIL’s gathering centers and movements in the surrounding areas of T4 airbase, destroying two tanks and several military vehicles.

Meantime, the Syrian army retook more lands South and West of the T4 airbase in Eastern Homs, including several hilltops and regions overlooking Alfo Sefat road.

The Syrian army continued its advances in the Southwestern part of Homs province today, inflicting heavy losses on the terrorists near the ancient Assyrian city of al-Quaryatayn.

The army units launched another powerful offensive near al-Quaryatayn in the Southwestern part of Homs province.

Meantime, the Syrian army backed by the Russian airstrikes stormed the Southern countryside of the T4 airbase and liberated large chunks of the territory amid their advances towards the village of Al-Baridah.

A military source in Homs reiterated that the Syrian army managed to kill as many as 25 ISIL terrorists while destroying an armored and 7 technical vehicles South of the T4 airbase.
