ISIS mass collapsing in east Palmyra as Syrian Army troops advance eastward

The Islamic State (ISIS) is mass retreating from several points across the Palmyra countryside, as the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and their allies advance through the terrorist group’s collapsing defenses.

On Tuesday evening, the Syrian Arab Army’s 5th Legion made another important advance in eastern Palmyra, liberating the Mustadirah Mountains after a day-long battle with the Islamic State terrorists.

However, not long after seizing Mustadirah Mountains, the Syrian Arab Army’s 5th Legion infiltrated the Islamic State’s defenses at the nearby Mustadirah Gas Fields, liberating this site during the twilight hours on Tuesday.

According to a military source in east Homs, Tuesday’s advance by the Syrian Arab Army marked the first time since 2015 that the government has been in control of the Mustadirah area of Palmyra.

The Syrian Arab Army is now in the process of attacking the Islamic State’s positions at the Talilah Crossroad, which is located near the strategic ‘Arak Gas Fields.
