Islamic Awakening will reach the US – minister

The Islamic Awakening which has inspired the Arab countries will reach the US and Europe as well, IRI Intelligence Minister Heidar Moslehi said Thursday.

He made the remarks in a gathering of war veterans in Karaj, capital of Alborz Province, central Iran.

“The awakening has been inspired by the Islamic Revolution and by no means is engineered by the US. It will spread across the American and European countries,” Moslehi said, pointing to the popular protests in France and Spain.

“If intellectuals study the issue, they will understand that the Egyptian uprising has been inspired by the Islamic Revolution of Iran,” Moslehi added.

He rejected claims to the contrary in this regard and urged for not advancing the enemies’ goals by promoting of the idea that that the regional uprising had been engineered by the American authorities.

“If the uprisings were directed by the US, they (Americans) would not travel to the region for many times to collect supporters,” Moslehi said.
