Islamic Jihad: The resistance is the only way to liberate Palestine

Senior Islamic Jihad official Khaled al-Batsh has reiterated his Movement’s adherence to the option of resistance as the only means to liberate Occupied Palestine and achieve the right of return. Batsh made his remarks during a festival organized for the support of al-Quds intifada (uprising) in Deir al-Balah city, south of Gaza. The Islamic Jihad official also called on the Arab and Muslim worlds to support the Palestinian resistance in its struggle against the occupation.

“The political leaders must stop the bloodletting in their countries and direct all capabilities and energies towards the liberation of Palestine, and return to the real identity of struggle against the Zionist enemy,” he said. Batsh also urged the Arab and Muslim leaders to work on opening the Rafah border crossings in Gaza and ending 10 years of blockade on its population. He noted that the festival was held to mark the anniversaries of the 1948 Nakba of Palestine and the liberation of Jerusalem by leader Salahuddin ibn Ayyub.
