Islamic Republic of Iran to host 16th NAM summit in August

The two-day meeting of foreign ministers of the member-states of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) ended here on Thursday evening and Islamic Republic of Iran became the rotating chair of NAM.

Iran will be hosting the 16th NAM Summit in Tehran in late August.

The NAM foreign ministers elaborated on their viewpoints and stances vis-à-vis regional and international issues in the second day of NAM meeting on Thursday.

The NAM foreign ministers also studied and prepared the draft statement of the 16th NAM Summit slated for September in Tehran.

The main issues discussed during the second day of NAM foreign ministerial meeting was about Palestine, Syria and Sudan and NAM member-states emphasized on further measures to be taken for these countries.

The 16th NAM Summit will be held in Tehran on August 26-31 and Iran will take charge of NAM chair for a period of Three years from that date.
