Islamic unity conference held in Kashmir

A glimpse of Shia-Sunni unity was witnessed at Imambara Khandah in central Kashmir’s Budgam district where religious scholars of both the sects stressed the need for unity and solidarity among Muslims, and urged the Muslim ummah to follow the teachings of Prophet Mohammad (SAWW).
In connection with Meraj-e Alam (SAWW), Pairwan-e Vilayat Jammu and Kashmir, headed by young Shia leader of Kashmir Moulana
Sibt-e Mohammad Shabir Qummi, organized a daylong Islamic Unity Conference at central Imambara at Khandah in Budgam district on June 18 (Monday).

Speaking on the occasion, former Hurriyat Conference chairman and patron Ittihad-ul Muslimeen Maulana Mohamamd Abbas Ansari urged the Muslims to make the life of prophet Mohammad (SAWW) as the centre of their unity to attain highest form of success and prosperity.

In his address, Mirwaiz central Kashmir, Moulana Syed Abdul Lateef Bukhari, stressed the need for maintaining unity and intellectual harmony at every level. He urged people to remain steadfast in following the teachings of Islam.

Speaking on the occasion, Member World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Hajj Abdulhussain Mossvi Kashmir, said that Imam Khomeini’s concept of Vilayat-e Faqih generated awareness among Muslims, signs of which are clearly visible in the Arab world.

Stating that present wave of Islamic awakening in the Arab world was only offshoot of the success of Islamic revolution, Abdulhussain Moosvi said, “Iran’s successful implementation of Islamic doctrine prompted the Muslim world to follow the suit. They thought if they were Muslims then why they don’t follow Islamic laws instead of western laws in their countries. Thus they began their struggle to enforce Islamic system in their respective nations. This wave of Islamic awakening has thwarted the conspiracies of America and Israel. Muslims must bear in mind that America and Israel will try to take revenge for their defeat, and their most effective weapon is to create dissention among Muslims.”

He cautioned people against the nefarious designs of anti-Islamic elements, and urged them not to become victims of the propaganda unleashed by the divisive forces.

Addressing the gathering, Karwan-e Islami, Moulana Ghulam Rasool Hami said the reason for the plight of Muslims in present era is drifting from the teachings of Prophet Mohammad (SAWW).
He appreciated the efforts of Moulana Sibt-e Mohammad Shabir Qummi, and said that similar conferences should be organized Valley wide to bridge the gap between Muslims.

Thousands of people participated in the seminar.

Asghar Karbalai of Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust Kargil, patron Anjuman-e Moin-ul Islam, Aga Syed Mohammad Sibtein Moosvi, Moulana Maqbool Husssain Joo, Maulana Rafiq Ahmed Wani, Maulana Shabir Ahmed Sofi, Maulana Ishaq Ashrafi of Jamia Miftah-ul-Uloom, Aga Syed Kalb-e Hussain Rizvi Shalhari, Aga Syed Hafizullah Rizvi, Ghulam Hassan Majrooh, also spoke on the occasion, and emphasized the need for Muslim unity.

Ghulam Hassan Gamgheen, famous Naat Khwan of Kashmir, recited Naat Sharief in his unique voice that touched the audience’s heart.

Later, patron of Pairwan-e Vilayat Jammu and Kashmir, Moulana Sibt-e Mohammad Shabir Qummi, presented vote of thanks.
