General Suleimani reportedly leading battle in southeast Deir Ezzor

Iran’s prominent commander of the Al-Quds Force, Major General Qassem Suleimani, is leading the battle to liberate the strategic border-city of Albukamal, Iraqi members of Hashd Al-Sha’abi posted on social media, Wednesday.

The Hashd Al-Sha’abi fighters posted pictures of General Suleimani, showing him meeting with several fighters in an undisclosed area.

While Al-Masdar News cannot confirm whether or not General Suleimani is in southeast Deir Ezzor, his forces from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps are participating in the ongoing offensive to liberate Albukamal.

The IRGC is leading the assault to liberate Albukamal alongside their allies from the Syrian Arab Army (SAA), Hezbollah, Russian Air Force, Liwaa Fatemiyoun, and Hashd Al-Sha’abi.
