Iranian FM Condemns ‘Cowardice and Desperation’ in Response to Alleged Israeli Actions Against IRIB

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has vehemently denounced the assault on the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), characterizing it as a manifestation of Israeli desperation and cowardice.

In a statement on Tuesday, Araghchi condemned the assault, describing it as the epitome of cowardice. He asserted that when adversaries fail on actual battlefields, they resort to targeting civilian centers dedicated solely to delivering the truth.

He underscored that the assault on IRIB highlighted Israel’s “increasing frustration.”

He asserted that there was a misconception that by targeting military leaders or specific sites, the Islamic Republic would be significantly weakened, compelling it to capitulate. However, he emphasized, this perspective reveals a lack of understanding and experience with the resilience of the Iranian nation.

Highlighting Iran’s historical resilience, Araghchi noted that the nation engaged in an eight-year conflict, valiantly defending its territory, and subsequently endured numerous sanctions and pressures.

The senior Iranian official swiftly emphasized that the adversary’s expectations were promptly thwarted.

Military leadership underwent an immediate overhaul, showcasing the armed forces’ preparedness, according to a statement. The adversaries, it was noted, found themselves disheartened by these developments.

Iran has stated that adversaries should understand that military intervention is not a viable solution, asserting that the Iranian nation will not succumb to external demands through intimidation or pressure.

On Monday, Israeli forces launched a new offensive by striking a building belonging to Iran’s state broadcaster in Tehran.

A coordinated attack involving no fewer than four explosive devices targeted the central edifice accommodating IRIB’s news division amid an ongoing live broadcast.

Iran’s foreign ministry has denounced the attack on the state broadcaster, labeling it a “war crime,” and has urged the United Nations to promptly intervene against the Zionist regime.

In a recent act of aggression, two members of the IRIB news department have lost their lives.
