Syrian Army Elite Units Deploy to Eastern Damascus to Drive Terrorists Back

The Syrian Army’s elite 105th Brigade has been redeployed to a new front in Eastern Ghouta to face the threat of Ahrar al-Sham terrorists, a military source said on Friday.

The source said that the army’s 105th Brigade, with a new commander and thousands of soldiers, has been redeployed in Eastern Ghouta to play a major role in driving back the Ahrar al-Sham from Harasta region.

The 105th Brigade arrived in Eastern Damascus this morning after Ahrar al-Sham seized the army’s command post near the Regiment 46 base.

So far, the 105th Brigade has been able to repel Ahrar al-Sham’s attack on the Regiment 46 base; however, they are still on the defensive as they attempt to beat back the encroaching terrorists.

The army troops engaged in fierce clashes with terrorists in Eastern Ghouta on Wednesday, fending off their heavy offensive.

The army men warded off terrorists’ offensive on the pro-government forces’ positions in the town of Harasta, killing tens of militants and destroying their equipment.
