Israeli government and Hamas reportedly ‘nearer than ever’ to reaching an agreement, says Katz
The Israeli Defense Minister has reportedly informed Knesset lawmakers that the nation is on the brink of an unprecedented agreement with Hamas regarding the release and exchange of prisoners of war.

According to the Times of Israel, remarks by Israel Katz to the Knesset Foreign Affairs and War Committee were delivered in a confidential session but have been extensively leaked and reported in the Hebrew media.
Israel is reportedly on the brink of securing another agreement regarding the release of hostages, according to statements attributed to Katz. He further emphasized that discretion is paramount concerning the details of the negotiations.
According to reports from state media, Katz anticipates widespread support for the proposed deal among the majority of the coalition, predicting minimal internal resistance.
He seemingly suggests that the agreement will not encompass an indefinite cessation of hostilities.
The minister asserted that there is room for negotiation on the opposing side.
