Battle to take Mosul from ISIS can take longer than expected

The Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) commander had admitted that the battle to retake Mosul from ISIS can take a lot longer than initially anticipated.

“Those who believe that battle Mosul is going to end quickly are deluded,” Hadi al-Ameri, a senior PMU commander and secretary-general of Badr Organization, was seen stating during a televised interview on the battlefield in Mosul on Monday.

“The battle will last longer than expected, but will eventually see the city liberated from ISIS,” he added.

The operation to liberate Mosul, Iraq’s second largest city, has entered its second month.
