Starvation and aid bombing: Deliberate ‘israeli’ approach to perpetuate famine in Gaza

Under the title

According to the report, the occupation army killed 560 Palestinian citizens and injured 1,523 others during the targeting of aid recipients, distribution centers, aid workers, and officials responsible for organizing and protecting aid distribution in the Gaza Strip.

The report documented the killing of 256 Palestinians in the Kuwait roundabout area, 230 on Rashid Street, 24 in the targeting of aid distribution centers, and 12 aid distributors, two of whom were from UNRWA, and 41 from the police and popular protection committees responsible for securing aid until March 23 of this year.

The report concluded that Israel’s actions and collective punishments directly and clearly aim to starve all the inhabitants of the Strip and expose them to the risk of real death.

Political decision

The Euro-Mediterranean Observatory stressed that the use of starvation as a weapon stems from an official Israeli political decision from the first day of the war, implemented in several stages, including tightening the siege, closing crossings, preventing the entry of commercial goods, and blocking humanitarian aid, including food and drink.

It warned that when Israel allowed aid to enter, it restricted its quantity, type, and access locations, and also bombed food warehouses, malls, and shops, culminating in the bombing of aid recipients and those working on and protecting aid.

It affirmed that Israel is using starvation, aid prevention, and the killing of the hungry citizens as part of a clear plan to carry out the crime of forced displacement against Palestinians in the northern Gaza Strip.

Demands

The report called for the necessity to protect relief operations and to exert immediate international pressure on Israel to stop all its crimes in the Gaza Strip, including genocide and starvation, and to hold it accountable for its serious crimes and violations against the Gaza Strip and its inhabitants.

It emphasized the need for more effective international intervention to ensure the safe and complete delivery of humanitarian supplies without any obstacles to reach all affected individuals.

It called for an independent investigation into the crimes of killing the starving, especially those that Israel attempted to evade responsibility for, to publish its results, and to ensure accountability and prosecution for it.

The report was presented in seven themes, the first of which was the toll of victims based on documentation by the Euro-Mediterranean field team, the second bombing of starving people waiting for aid, the third bombing of aid distribution centers, the fourth bombing of aid convoys, the fifth assassination of aid distributors, the sixth assassination of officials responsible for securing and protecting aid, and finally, Israel’s attempts to evade responsibility for the massacres, concluding with an overview of the main findings and recommendations.
