Funeral Prayer for Thursday Bombing’s Martyrs in Damascus

20130222-152111_h468717Mosques’ imams and preachers on Friday performed the Funeral Prayer for the Absent Deceased for the repose of the souls of the martyrs who fell in Damascus terrorist bombing on Thursday.

They strongly condemned the terrorist bombing which took place in al-Thawra Street and claimed the lives of scores of citizens, stressing that Islam has nothing to do with these criminal acts that target the security of the citizens and the homeland and the national unity.

In Friday Sermon, Minister of Awqaf (Religious Endowments), Mohammad Abdul-Sattar al-Sayyed, stressed that the Syrian people with all spectra realizes the reality and goals of these takfiri terrorist acts and those who stand behind them.

“The Syrians are now determined more than ever to foil the conspiracy and those standing behind it who are enemies of Arabism and Islam,” he added.

The Minister called for unifying the ranks and renouncing all forms of violence, sectarianism and extremism to face the conspiracy.

The mosque preachers noted that the goals of these terrorist bombings are known; that is to deviate Syria from its principled stances against the U.S. and Israeli schemes, stressing that Syria is now paying the price for those stances.
