Karzai: US not in war with Taliban

In a meeting with National Ulema Council of Afghanistan, Afghanistan President has said that the US has recognized Taliban and is not in war with Taliban anymore.
Hamid Karzai’s remarks comes in a time when before US invasion of Afghanistan 11 years ago, and committing war and atrocities against this country, the situation was very similar today. And the US and its allies had announced fighting against terrorism and Taliban as the stated mission of Afghanistan invasion.

Now families of victims of the 11-year war in Afghanistan are asking themselves, if the US does not have war with the Taliban, why did they come to Afghanistan? And why did they spill blood of more than 10 thousand Afghan civilians?

They are also asking themselves, if the US is not going to fight the Taliban, why are they [the US and its allies] in Afghanistan for. And why are they seeking a long term presence in the country?
