Iraq army gains in Tikrit marks demise of ISIL: Analyst

Press TV has interviewed Redwan Rizk, a political commentator from Beirut, to discuss the Iraqi army’s military operations to liberate the strategic city of Tikrit.

The analyst maintains that the recent losses inflicted by the Iraqi forces on the ISIL Takfiris show the demise of the terror group in the Arab country.

The release of Tikrit would be a starting point for the liberation of the ISIL-held city of Mosul, Rizk says, expressing hope that the Iraqi army, backed by all religious and ethnic groups, would soon purge Tikrit of ISIL extremists.

He maintains that Iraqi people will manage to foil all enemy plots and flush the ISIL and their backers out of their country for forever.
