Six killed, 62 injured in mishaps in India

At least six persons killed and fifty others injured in two separate mishaps in South Indian state of Karnataka and Northeastern state of Assam, on Wednesday.

According to Press Trust of India, six persons were charred to death and 12 others injured, five of them seriously, when a bus caught fire in Karnataka state. The bus was carrying about 30 passengers.

In another mishap, over 50 passengers were injured, 19 of them seriously, when the engine and 10 coaches of a BG Express derailed in central Assam in the wee hours today.

The derailment damaged 100 meters of railway line leading to cancellation of eight trains on the route.

Nineteen passengers were seriously injured and have been admitted to various hospitals, police said.
