Leader Sabha: Prisoners will start new escalatory steps

Tadamun Foundation for Human Rights revealed that Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails intend to launch escalatory steps with the beginning of the month of October, in rejection to Israeli repressive policies against them.

Muhammad Abid, lawyer for Tadamun Foundation who recently visited Shatta prison, quoted captive Mohammed Sabha, one of captive movement’s leaders, as saying: “The captive movement will start new escalatory steps in Israeli jails with the beginning of October, in response to Israeli occupation’s violation of all the terms of the agreement signed last May and to its ongoing abuses against the prisoners.”

Sabha also asserted that there is coordination between all factions to start these steps together.

Ahmed Betawi, researcher at the Foundation, stated that the captive movement intends to start refusing some meals and then to progressively move to strike.

He pointed out that the Prison Service administration did not adhere to many of the points, been agreed upon, especially regarding the families visit, the completion of academic education, the strip searches and the solitary confinement.
