Middle East, North Africa Uprisings “Political Tsunami” Against “Israel”

A top Iranian official has described recent uprisings in the Middle East and North Africa as a “political tsunami” against the “Israeli” regime.

“The end product of the current uprisings is the formation of a new Middle East which will be more democratic compared to the past, and more resolute in opposing the Zionist regime,” said Hussein Amir-Abdollahian, director general of Iranian Foreign Ministry’s Persian Gulf and Middle East Department.

He also said the United States has been attempting to tip the regional balance of power in its own favor, but the Islamic Revolution of Iran has prompted such a deep impact on regional nations that Washington’s efforts in averting such developments proved to be futile.
