“Leading Role”, special edition details role of women in Islamic movement

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Documents Center has released new book on role of women in history of Islamic movement in the wake of the birth anniversary of Hazrat Zahra (AS), daughter of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
“Leading Role” is the title for the special edition by Islamic Revolution Documents Center published concurrent with the birth anniversary of Hazrat Zahra (AS), detailing the role of Islamic revolution leaders highlighting the remarkable role of women in protests against former Pahlavi regime, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

The prelude of this special edition quotes the late founder of Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khomeini (RA), lauded the leading role of Iranian women in this victory and stressed the achievements of men are all owed to support of the brave women.

It also quotes the Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei praising the struggle by Iranian women in anti-Pahlavi protests stressing that the Islamic Revolution would not have been successful had not the women joined the demonstrations.

This edition comprises articles some of which titled “Review on struggles of women in the Islamic Revolution in view of Imam Khomeini (RA)”, “Women’s confrontation methods against Pahlavi regime”, “US embassy reports on women fighting against Pahlavi regime”.

The articles and reviews in this special edition are by political activists Maryam Behrouzi (1945-2012), Marzieh Hadidchi (1939-2016), Ahmad Tavakkoli (b1954) and Hujjat-ul-Islam Nateq Noori (b1944) among many others.
