Palestinian resistance movements have stressed that they will use more advanced weaponry to ward off an Israeli offensive should the Tel Aviv regime violate the recently brokered ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, a senior Iranian official says.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, who is in Germany to discuss the latest developments in the region with German officials, made the remarks on Thursday.

“Citing the [Palestinian] resistance movements, we have announced to German authorities that if the current ceasefire does not hold and the Zionist regime violates it or refuses to consider the demands of the oppressed Palestinian people within the framework of Egypt’s proposal, the resistance will use other advanced arms it possesses,” Amir-Abdollahian said.
The Iranian official said the situation will become further complicated for the Israelis and their supporters if the Israeli regime continues its aggression against Gaza and the resistance movement uses more advanced weapons in retaliation.

Stating that the Israelis committed a strategic mistake by launching an attack against the defenseless people of Gaza, Amir-Abdollahian said that the Israelis are misinformed about resistance movements’ capabilities.

“They (Israelis) showed that their information on the situation in Gaza and the equipment of resistance movements is very weak, inaccurate and incorrect,” he said.
Amir-Abdollahian also said he had discussed with German officials the three key regional issues of Gaza, Iraq and Syria.

About 1,900 people, including women and children, were killed and over 9,500 others injured by the Israeli regime’s massive offensive that began on July 8.

A three-day humanitarian truce took effect at 8 a.m. (0500 GMT) Tuesday and Israeli troops withdrew from the coastal enclave.
