Minister says Takfiri trends pose threat to whole world

‘Iran recognizes the regional security as its own, and believes that the insecurity in the region will put the security of the whole world in danger,’ Dehqan said Monday at a local ceremony here.

Pointing to a proposal made by the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in 2015 on the need for a World against Violence and Extremism IWAVE) , the minister said the move indicated that Iran pioneers struggle against the Takfiri trend which threatens the global security.

Through a proposal to the United Nations General Assembly last year, President Rouhani called for an updated version of the 2013 WAVE resolution that seeks a world free from violence and extremism. The proposal was warmly welcomed by the UN.
