The majority of people in the United States disapprove of President Barack Obama’s handling of his job and his military campaign against Daesh (ISIL), according to a new poll.

The CNN/ORC poll released Monday found that 52 percent of Americans disapprove of Obama’s handling of the presidency and 60 percent disapprove of his handling of terrorism.

The survey also found that only about half express confidence that the Obama administration can protect American citizens from future acts of terrorism.

The poll, conducted December 17-21, shows that 40 percent of Americans believe terrorists are winning the war against the United States, higher than any point since the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

This general worry and dissatisfaction is seen in approval ratings of Obama’s tenure.

Another national poll released in November showed that more than 6 in 10 people in the US rejected Obama’s handling of the threat posed by the ISIL.

The Associated Press-GfK survey found that only 40 percent of Americans approved of the president’s handling of foreign policy.

A CNN/ORC poll released in June this year indicated that 52 percent of Americans have a less favorable view of Obama than his predecessor, George W. Bush.
