‘Use of chemical and nuclear weapons prohibited’: Iran Leaders

Iran’s Majlis (Parliament) Speaker, who is visiting Pakistan, says Imam Khomeini (RA) had forbidden use of chemical and nuclear weapons, and that Iran does not seek these weapons.
Ali Larijani, who is visiting Pakistan to attend ECO Parliament Speakers Conference, told a press conference that Iran is confident that Pakistan would not allow its soil used for an attack against Iran.
“The US is responsible for murder of innocent people and damages inflicted on Pakistan and Afghanistan,” he asserted.
Larijani assessed Afghanistan invasion ‘without any outcome,’ and said that US campaign in Afghanistan had not had any positive outcome. “Imam Khomeini (RA) had prohibited using nuclear and chemical weapons, so Iran is not seeking and has not sought nuclear weapons,” he added. “If all Muslim countries are united, foreign powers will not be able to intervene with force in their internal affairs,” Larijani asserted.
Recently the Supreme Leader also had issued a fatwa (religious decree) forbidding the use of nuclear weapons.
The Majlis Speaker also said that Iran was seeking to help Muslim countries for gas and electricity exports to Turkey and help reconstruction in Afghanistan, which indicates Iran’s good will. ‘Currently, Iran exports 70 mega watts of electricity to Pakistan, and has reached an agreement to increase this number,” he explained.
Larijani believed that Western allegations on Iran’s interference in Syria and Bahrain were baseless and scandalous, saying that “we are against military interference in any country.”
The Iranian delegation headed by Larijani arrived at Lahore yesterday.
