Hujjat-ol-Islam Moballeghi
Hujjat-ol-Islam Moballeghi stressed,” Certainly Muslims have to take a logical and clear stance regarding the desecration of Islamic sanctities. This stance must carry a firm, clear and alerting the desecrators.
On the sideline of the 26th International Islamic Unity Conference, Hujjat-ol-Islam Ahmad Moballeghi, Head of the University of Islamic Denominations, in an exclusive interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) related on the efficient solutions for the issues of the Muslim world and also disunity and sectarian clashes between Islamic denominations.

Q: In your idea can summits with the theme of Islamic unity play an efficient role for the crisis in the Muslim world?

A: We can be hopeful towards that if the crisis of the Muslim world is known, the origins for these problems are analyzed, and solutions are defined in accord with the origins of the problems and finally the executive operation is carried out. In fact the solution is a multi-process phase.

Q: How can we turn the destructive sectarian clashes into constructive religious dialogues?

A: This issue has one solution meaning that you suppose that there are clashes, I mean these clashes are part of the present crises. Then we have to analyze the clashes and their origins.

In fact part of the origins of these clashes is intolerance, the other one is excommunication and the wrong views on religion.

If we mobilize a courageous group of scholars to issue statements to forbid these clashes so that a great movement against these clashes starts in the Muslim world, then it might be useful.

Then I can summarize the solution into two steps, issuing a collective, courageous and clear statement (by both Shia and Sunni scholars) and then spreading these fatwas (statements) in universities, cultural and Islamic centers. Finally some NGOs must be launched for in the Muslim world.

I have always stressed that Shia cannot manage proximity lonely same way that Sunni cannot do so but they can do that in a unified move where the management of both is maintained.

Q: What stance should Muslims take in regards to the sacrilegious moves in the west, particularly those towards Prophet Mohammad (PBUH)?

A: Certainly Muslims should maintain a unified, logical and clear stance. This stance should firstly be firm, secondly clear and then it must carry a warning message for the desecrators or the supporting organizations. Finally we Muslims should represent the ethics that our Prophet (PBUH) pioneered.

We should clean our society from demoralized behaviors like excommunications and start dialogues among different religions.
