Muslims in Tehran donate blood to patients in need

Many Iranian Muslims living in the capital city of Tehran have flocked to the city’s blood transfusion centers to donate their blood on ‘Nights of Destiny’ Press TV has reported.

During recent days, Tehran’s blood donation centers have been full of fasting Muslims who came to donate their blood, the CEO of Tehran’s Blood Transfusion Center announced.

The people consider blood donation as a charity prayer in seeking God during the holy month of Ramadan, particularly on ‘Night of Destiny’ or
‘Laylat al-Qadr’.

Ramadan, the ninth month of the lunar Islamic calendar, is the time to focus on self-reformation and prayer. It is also a festival of giving and sharing.

Muslims believe Ramadan to be an auspicious month for the revelations of God to humankind,

‘Laylat al-Qadr’ in Ramadan is believed to be the night when the holy Quran was first revealed to the Islamic prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

It is also believed to be the night when God decides the destiny of everyone for the coming year.

During the ‘Night of Destiny’ or ‘Night of Power’ the angels and the Spirit descend therein, by God’s permission, to carry out every command.

Muslims throughout the world spend the nights worshipping God.
