Muslims must stand against normalization with ‘israel’ by any means: Nasrallah

The secretary-general of Lebanon’s resistance movement Hezbollah says all Muslims are duty-bound to oppose the normalization of relations with the Israeli regime.

Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah made the remarks in a televised speech on Friday in a ceremony held on the occasion of the birthday anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in Beirut’s southern suburb of Dahiyeh.

Nasrallah congratulated the celebration attendees and all Muslims on the auspicious ceremony, and noted that Prophet Muhammad managed to establish eternal peace using Islamic teachings.

Israel poses a threat to all Muslims worldwide, Nasrallah said, censuring the Bahraini regime for the normalization deal with Tel Aviv while lauding the Iraqi factions for condemning an event held in Erbil for the formalization of ties with the Israeli entity.

“Today, the United States and the supporters of the Zionist regime seek to ensure that Muslims do not oppose the Zionist occupiers even in their hearts,” the Hezbollah chief said.

“Muslims must stand against the normalization of relations with the Zionist regime by ant means they can,” he added.

The Hezbollah secretary-general praised the Iranian, Syrian, Iraqi and Yemeni support to the Palestinian cause despite all costs as well as the Bahrainis who rejected the normalization with Israel despite Manama’s punitive measures.

Daesh represents ‘wrong image’ of Islam, must be defeated

He also said members of the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group depict a wrong image of the noble religion of Islam and the Muslim community.

“The Daesh Takfiris represent a wrong image of Islam and must be defeated,” the Hezbollah chief said. “All Muslim scholars must preserve the Umma’s unity and confront Daesh’s barbarism.”

Daesh began a campaign of terror in Iraq and Syria less than a decade ago, initially overrunning vast areas of territory in both countries. Despite being defeated in many localities, the remnants of the terrorist outfit still conduct sporadic deadly attacks on civilians and government forces in the region.

Nasrallah also called for denouncing the seven-year Saudi-led war on Yemen. “The end of war in Yemen requires approving the ceasefire and lifting the blockade simultaneously.”

Since 2015, Saudi Arabia has led a coalition against Yemen to overthrow the popular Ansarullah movement and reinstall the ousted, Riyadh-friendly, regime of Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi in Sana’a. The prolonged war, accompanied by an economic siege, has failed to reach its goals, killing hundreds of thousands of Yemeni people, while throwing the poorest country in West Asia into what the UN calls the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.

According to the latest estimate by UNICEF, the war on Yemen has killed or maimed at least 10,000 children, which is equivalent to four children every day.
