Catastrophe struck the Salman family as the occupation bombed their house on Al-Be’ah Street in Deir Al-Balah, resulting in the heartbreaking loss of 22 lives. The Nuseirat camp in the middle of the Strip also faced a brutal raid by the occupation.

The Civil Defense in Gaza, overwhelmed by the scope of the destruction, unfortunately, admitted its inability to respond promptly to distress calls from Palestinians residing in the Beach Camp, west of Gaza City. As a result, the Civil Defense urgently appealed to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, stressing the necessity of immediate intervention to protect civilians.

Furthermore, the Barhoum family suffered from the occupation’s bombing of their house near the Salah al-Din Mosque in the Yabna camp in central Rafah. This attack led to the death of 3 individuals, while others were left injured and rushed to Kuwait Hospital. The hospital itself grapples with limited resources and struggles to cope with the mounting casualties.

Hospitals, already strained by the violence, have not been spared from the occupation’s onslaught. Al-Shifa Medical Complex and Al-Amal Hospital have been incessantly targeted by artillery and air strikes.

The upper floor of Al-Shifa Medical Complex was bombed, leaving the hospital staff and patients in peril. Al-Amal Hospital and the eastern areas of Khan Yunis in the south of Gaza Strip also faced heavy shelling.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society highlighted the drastic situation, stating that communication with its crews at Al-Amal Hospital was severed due to the outage of VHF radio waves. Residents in the Khan Yunis Governorate have been cut off from landline and cellular communications, as well as internet services for 72 consecutive days.

In the latest updates concerning Al-Amal Hospital, the association revealed that all displaced persons and mobile patients had been evacuated to the Al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Yunis. However, the association’s dedicated medical teams, along with nine patients, ten companions, and a displaced family with children requiring special care, remained inside the hospital. Urgent evacuations are necessary to ensure the safety of the sick, wounded, and the bodies of the two martyrs—colleague Amir Abu Aisha and a fatally injured man.
