The Israeli regime was disgraced during its month-long aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip, a political analyst says.

The Palestinians’ resistance “is a historical victory against the Israelis,” Redwan Rizk, a political commentator, told Press TV in a Wednesday interview.

“The image of Israel has been destroyed all over the world and this has made the Israelis look very, very small, made them look like criminals and they were ashamed of themselves, even some of them regretted, some of the Israeli officials regretted that they went into this war,” the analyst added.
On August 5, Ismail Haniyeh, a senior leader of resistance movement Hamas, said Palestinians are the victorious side of the Israeli war on the besieged Gaza Strip.

Rizk described the victory as “divine,” adding, “Undoubtedly, it is a victory. It does not need Hamas to announce that or Israel to deny it because it is very clear to the world that the victory has been achieved by all fighters, by the resistance in Gaza, by the people of Gaza who paid a very, very high price.”
The analyst hit out at the international community for remaining silent and ignoring the crimes perpetrated by the Israeli regime in the blockaded area.

“It is a shame of humanity to see or to stand watching this massacre against these armless civilians,” he deplored.

On July 8, Israel launched an aerial military campaign against the Gaza Strip, demolishing houses and burying families under the rubble. Israeli forces also began a ground offensive against the impoverished Palestinian land on July 17.

The Israeli regime’s 29 days of relentless offensive against the Gaza Strip claimed the lives of nearly 1,900 Palestinians, including more than 400 children, and wounded over 9,500 others.

A 72-hour humanitarian truce between the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas and Israel took effect at 8 a.m. (0500 GMT) on Tuesday.
