Over 35,000 Civilians Flee Terrorist-Held Regions in Southern Syria towards Army Positions

Over 35,000 civilians left the regions occupied by terrorists in Southern Syria for army-held areas, Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria reported on Thursday.

The Center reported that over 5,000 Syrian civilians have fled from the Western parts of the de-escalation zone in Southwestern Syria which was under the terrorists’ occupation to the army-controlled regions through the humanitarian corridor near the town of Kafr Shams.

It added that over 35,000 civilians have been transferred to the army-held regions in the past week.

Meantime, Syrian field sources reported that over 30,000 residents of the town of Da’el in Northern Dara’a returned home after security returned to the region.

Da’el’s population had decreased to less than 20,000 people when it was under the occupation of terrorists.

The Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria reported on Wednesday that militants in 27 more villages and towns in Southern Syria have laid down arms and joined the reconciliation plan in the past week.

The Russian Center said in a statement that militants in 27 villages, towns and townships in de-escalation zone in the provinces of Quneitra, Sweida and Dara’a laid down weapons and joined the peace process with the army.

The Center further said that Syrian flags were hoisted in the newly-freed regions and government organizations and institutions have started their routine jobs.
