370595_Palestine-rocketsThe Tel Aviv regime says more than 70 rockets have been fired into Israeli settlements since the early hours of Wednesday in retaliation for the deadly airstrikes on the besieged Gaza Strip.

According to latest reports, a barrage of rockets hit Israel’s Regavim military base. A rocket also targeted a house in Ashdod, while sirens were sounded in Bnei Shimon and Rahat. Moreover, Ashkelon and Negev Desert have witnessed similar attacks.

Earlier on Wednesday, a missile fell on Haifa, as Sderot was shelled with nearly a dozen Grad rockets. Three missiles also struck Hadera, over a hundred kilometers from Gaza.

Other reports say sirens in the town of Ashkol failed to go off when a rocket exploded there. Another rocket also hit Ashkol, causing a fire in the area. Several rockets have also hit Natif Atessra and Tel Aviv.

The current situation has hurt businesses in Israel and factories have been forced to cut back on production. Tourists have been also cancelling hotel reservations as the situation worsens. The United States has shut down its embassy in Tel Aviv.

Some 48 Palestinians have been killed and over 300 others injured in Israeli attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip.

Palestinian resistance movements in the Gaza Strip have responded to Israel’s aggression by targeting towns and cities deep inside the occupied Palestinian territories.

The Israeli military said on Tuesday that 130 rockets were fired from Gaza, with 70 hitting different sites.

Following Israel’s deadly attack on a home in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, Hamas said that all Israelis are “legitimate targets” of its attacks.
