Palestinian children continue to be targeted by zionist slaughterers

International rights bodies have time and again warned about the violations of the rights of Palestinian children and teenagers by Israel. However, Israel seems to be turning a blind eye to all warnings, with its forces and settlers carrying on targeting Palestinian youths.

Atta Muhammad Atta Sabah is one of these victims. The 12-year-old boy was shot and wounded by Israeli soldiers in May this year. Nearly three months on, he’s still suffering. We met Atta Muhammad and his family from Jelazoun refugee camp near the West Bank city of Ramallah. He explains what happened to him.

The bullet struck Atta in the stomach and exited through his back, severing his spinal cord and causing paralysis from the waist down. It also caused damage to his liver, lungs, pancreas and spleen.

Muhammad’s father also spoke to us. He said Palestinian children are often targeted by the Israeli army.

This tragic incident has destroyed Muhammad Sabah’s life. Unfortunately, such incidents often occur in the West Bank, particularly in camps where children are arrested and face physical abuse by the Israeli army.

The Palestinian Ministry of Information has recently released a report on the number of Palestinian children killed by Israel from September 2000 up to April this year. The report says over fifteen-hundred Palestinian children were killed by Israel during the mentioned period. That’s equivalent to one Palestinian child killed by Israel every three days.

Statistics are time and again released on Israel’s aggressions against Palestinians including children. But, its seems that they come up short to prompt a decisive action to hold Israel accountable for crimes it’s committing against Palestinian civilians.
