Palestinian Doctor loses his left eye in Israeli shooting

A Palestinian doctor on Saturday morning suffered a serious eye injury as he was providing medical assistance to wounded young men during clashes with Israeli soldiers in Bab al-Zawiya neighborhood in al-Khalil city.

According to a spokesman for the Palestinian medical association, 25-year-old Amr Aqel has suffered a serious injury from a bullet fired directly by an Israeli soldier at his left eye.

The wounded doctor is now in a hospital in al-Khalil receiving special medical care.
