Saudi rulers to be held accountable for war crimes in Yemen

Bahram Ghasemi said Fri. that the delusional rulers of Saudi Arabia will be held accountable before the world for all the crimes against humanity they have committed in Yemen for nearly two years.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Bahram Ghasemi said Friday that the baseless and repetitive allegations made by Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir on Iran’s military aid to Yemeni militants reveals a kind of ‘desperation’ resulting from the heavy and successive defeats sustained by the Arab country’s war coalition against the defenseless Yemeni people.

He went on to add, “putting the blame on others and shirking from one’s own responsibility will not change the existing realities.”

The Yemeni army and popular forces do not need any foreign assistance to defend their country, he added.

“Sooner or later the delusional rulers of Saudi Arabia will be held accountable before the world for all the crimes against humanity that they have committed in Yemen for nearly two years,” Ghasemi said, adding “by leveling allegations against other countries, the burden of Saudis’ international responsibility in regard to their war crimes in Yemen will not diminish.”

“The Islamic Republic of Iran as a powerful and major country in the region has always played a constructive, stabilizing and leading role in fighting terrorism and has no need for interfering in the internal affairs of regional Muslim countries,” he said.

Ghasemi further called on al-Jubeir and Saudi rulers to change their strategy of following already tried and failed approaches.
