Al-Jaafari: Positive progress of UN vision on situation in Syria

Syria’s permanent Envoy to the UN Bashar al-Jaafari affirmed that there is a positive progress in the vision of a lot of Security Council member states regarding the situation in Syria.
“All now know who is responsible for the deteriorating situation in Syria … Saudi Arabia and Qatar still practice a negative role through their support to the armed terrorist groups,” Al-Jaafari told Russia Today TV in an interview broadcast on Thursday.
“The atmospheres seemed positive during the latest sessions of the Security council and the General Assembly on Syria… some states were trying to practice their negative role at a session of eliminating chemical weapons in Syria, but Coordinator of the UN-OPCW joint mission Sigrid Kaag presented a review about the case and she was very positive,” al-Jaafari said.
He warned that a number of countries are still determined to their role in support of terrorism in Syria, on top of them, Saudi Arabia where the Saudi involvement, whether it was governmental or intelligence, or by Takfiri groups became a reality.
“Since the announcement of the date of Geneva 2 conference and the Iranian deal with P 5+1 group , a Saudi clear escalation has been made,” Syria’s Envoy said.
On the abduction of 12 nuns and orphans from Maaloula by terrorists, al-Jaafari affirmed that the Syrian government is following with great concern this issue to solve it, saying that Syria asked the UN Security council and countries which have influence on those groups to exert efforts to resolve this matter.
