PA security apparatuses arrest seven members of Hamas

West Bank- PA security apparatuses arrested seven supporters and cadres of Hamas in Nablus, Jenin, Bethlehem and al Khalil, and raided a Hamas leader’s house in Bethlehem and summoned him, reported local sources in the West Bank on Wednesday.

This comes at a time when sources from Salfit confirmed that two political prisoners in PA’s prisons entered their sixteenth day of hunger strike to demand their release.

The military intelligence apparatus detained Asim Mustafa Assida from the town of Tel in the south of the city of Nablus. He had been detained several times by PA’s apparatuses and was arrested many times in Israeli occupation jails where he served long periods. Sources close to his family said that he was transferred to Beitunia prison, a day after his arrest.

The Authority security apparatuses also arrested three members of Hamas in the town of Shyoukh in al Khalil province, and immediately presented them to the court which extended their detention pending investigation.

Meanwhile, PA preventive security arrested Mohammed Rauf Hamdan, 35, from the town of Arraba south of the city of Jenin after summoning him to its headquarters.

A force of the Preventive Security stormed, in east of Bethlehem, the house of the liberated prisoner Sheikh Mustafa Arouj, who had served many years in Israeli occupation jails, searched it and confiscated a computer and a number of private papers of Sheikh Arouj.

The elements of the preventive service arrested Sheikh Arouj and his nephew after attacking him and summoned Mustafa Arouj’s brother to the Preventive apparatus’ headquarters.

For their part, Saad Youssef Marei, 24, and Suhaib Ahmed Marei, 35, political prisoners in the Preventive Security Service’s jails in Salfit, have continued their hunger strike for the 16th day, in protest at the resolution of the Magistrate’s Court in Salfit to extend their detention, for the second time, for 15 additional days, without charge or trial.

Meanwhile, Israeli occupation forces (IOF) arrested a former political prisoner and liberated captive, who had previously served seven years in Israeli jails, after breaking into his house in the Balata refugee camp in Nablus.
