Pezeshkian Criticizes Inconsistencies in US Statements, Affirms Iran’s Resilience Against Threats

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has criticized Trump's recent conflicting remarks concerning Iran, emphasizing that the Islamic Republic remains unfazed by his threats and is resolute in maintaining its legitimate nuclear rights despite external pressures.

In a ceremony held on Saturday to mark the second anniversary of the Iranian Navy’s 86th flotilla’s return to Bandar Abbas, Pezeshkian made notable comments. The event celebrated the flotilla’s completion of its inaugural circumnavigation of the globe.

Trump stands alone in his belief in his rhetoric against the Iranian nation. On one side, he talks of peace and stability, while simultaneously threatening with advanced weaponry. His conflicting messages convey peace, violence, and uncertainty all at once, according to the statement.

“We are not in pursuit of conflict; we prefer negotiation and dialogue. However, we will not back down in the face of threats, and we will steadfastly uphold our legal rights.”

In a statement reflecting on Iran’s accomplishments across multiple sectors, the president asserted that threats will not deter the nation from its justified and fundamental rights. “We will not retreat from our military, academic, scientific, and nuclear achievements,” he emphasized.

Pezeshkian stated, “Our scientists, clerics, and esteemed figures are being targeted for assassination, yet we are labeled as terrorists. We are, in fact, the victims of terrorism.”

Highlighting Iran’s dedication to fostering unity and enhancing relations with neighboring and regional nations, the president asserted, “They view us as a source of insecurity because we resist their intimidation and maintain confidence in our ability to be self-reliant.”

Pezeshkian condemned the inaction of self-proclaimed human rights advocates regarding the alleged killing of 60,000 defenseless Palestinians by the Israeli regime, as well as the reported cutting off of essential resources such as water and food to women and children in the affected areas.

“He questioned how peace could be achieved through such actions, stating, ‘These crimes contradict any claims of promoting peace and human rights. Genocide and the killing of innocents cannot be aligned with those values,'” he remarked.

Since assuming office for a second term, Trump has persisted in employing provocative and contemptuous rhetoric against Iran, even as discussions continue between his administration and the Islamic Republic concerning Tehran’s peaceful nuclear program.

On numerous occasions, Trump has issued warnings regarding the potential deployment of military force should the two parties be unable to reach an agreement.

Iran has engaged in four rounds of indirect discussions with the United States concerning its peaceful nuclear program, with both parties characterizing the Omani-facilitated negotiations as constructive.
