Pezeshkian Challenges US: Who Backs Gaza Killers? Questions U.S. Claims on Defeating Daesh Over Iran and Soleimani’s Role

Pezeshkian has raised questions over recent statements by Trump, who has asserted that America was responsible for driving Daesh out of the region. Speaking pointedly, Pezeshkian asked whether it was truly the efforts of the U.S. or instead Iran and the late Qassem Soleimani that led to the defeat of Daesh. He further accused Trump of being complicit by supporting Daesh, while having martyred Soleimani.

According to Pars Today, Masoud Pezeshkian, during a gathering with intellectuals and cultural activists in Kermanshah, Iran, addressed recent comments from Trump, asserting that he demonstrated a lack of understanding of the Iranian nation. Pezeshkian emphasized that there is a disconnect with the values of honor, sacrifice, chivalry, and forgiveness inherent to the Iranian people.

The President stated, “When Trump poses threats and labels Iran as a source of insecurity, we must question: Who was responsible for the deaths of 60,000 women and children in Gaza under bombardment over the past year? Was it us who claimed to possess unimaginable bombs? We are not in pursuit of war, but we will not compromise the dignity of this nation.”

In a recent statement, he remarked, “When missiles and bombs are dispatched to nations in the region, who is truly pursuing conflict? Yet, claims are made about being peacemakers. For 47 years, relentless efforts have been undertaken to overthrow the Islamic Republic, and all such attempts have met with failure—and they will persist in failing.”

Pezeshkian highlighted the courage of Iranian women in standing firm against adversaries, asserting to those foes, “We do not pursue war, but we will not compromise the dignity of our nation. The Iranian people—including its youth, courageous women, and intellectuals—will not succumb to any force. This lesson was imparted to us by our Imam (Khomeini). As Imam Ali (pbuh) stated, ‘Trust in none but God.'”

Pezeshkian emphasized the country’s determination to advance, stating, “Regardless of their desire for peace, we are committed to building our nation. We will address the challenges related to electricity, water, and gas. Our plan includes the deployment of 70,000 to 80,000 megawatts of solar, wind, and other renewable energy sources. No one can stand in our way.” He also highlighted that victory in the war was achieved through the active involvement of the populace.

Iran has expressed that it has established strong fraternal relations with neighboring nations and harbors no desire for territorial expansion. Officials have emphasized their focus on securing honor and dignity for their citizens. Criticizing those who carried out assassinations of Iranian scientists, the country labels such acts as terrorism while underscoring that the scientists were contributing to national pride.

Trump stated, “Even in warfare, we prevailed with the people’s involvement. America and other powers aimed to dismantle Iran, yet this nation remained resolute. Both women and men joined forces to protect every inch of our territory.”

Pezeshkian asserted that the sacrifice of martyrdom holds greater allure than a quiet passing at home. He passionately declared, “We will not barter the dignity and pride of our nation with anyone, as it is intrinsic to the Iranian identity. Embracing martyrdom is more appealing to me than a death on the pillow. We harbor no fear. If the Iranian populace comes together in unity, they will shape the nation’s future. Irrespective of ethnicity, race, language, or religion, all Iranians must stand in solidarity.”

Any notion that Iran would capitulate is profoundly misguided.

In response to recent threats, he stated, “Those who fantasize about Iran’s capitulation are profoundly misguided. This nation boasts a heritage spanning thousands of years, and no force can dismantle it. Even in the event of our leaders being martyred, hundreds will emerge from this land to continue the legacy.”

Did you claim victory over Daesh, or was it Iran and the late Soleimani who achieved this feat?

In a recent statement, Trump proclaimed, “For 47 years, efforts to weaken this system and nation have been in vain, and now you issue threats? Trump maintains that America expelled Daesh from the region. Was it your effort, or was it Iran and the late Qassem Soleimani who defeated Daesh? Yet, you martyred him and continue to support Daesh.”

He declared, “Our pursuit remains justice, humanity, freedom, ethics, and honor. Every individual on this planet deserves to live in peace and with justice. Israel acts as the aggressor, yet its supporters profess to be advocates of peace! How can they reconcile their actions of deploying heavy bombs with their rhetoric on peace and humanity?”

Pezeshkian stated that Israel has taken control of Palestinian territories, while the United States labels those resisting this occupation as the troublemakers of the region. He expressed deep concern over what he considers a skewed perspective on humanity.
